Media Ideas International was set up by David Brewer, whose journalistic and managerial experience spans newspapers, radio, television, and online, and includes 20 years with the BBC.

David was the managing editor of BBC News Online from 1997-2000, and part of the team responsible for launching the award-winning site.

He then joined CNN to set up CNN.com Europe, Middle East and Africa (now CNN International) and was responsible for the creation of CNNArabic.com in 2002.

David lectures at the University of Westminster (MA Journalism for International Students) as a visiting lecturer. He continues to write about the issues faced by independent media in transition states.
